BRRRRR.....

Even though the weather is getting increasingly warmer here in Atlanta.  I spent the last couple of days, feeling like I lived in the Artic Coast.  Why you ask, well one today I am at work.  Its almost 70 degrees here, and the powers that be think that means it is ok, to drop the air down to like 60.  So.. my nose is red, my space heater is running, and I am still cold..

Then, I attended a Bridal Shower on Saturday at Bahama Breeze.  Don't let the name fool you, as it fooled me too.  But, the reserved area was out side on the patio, even though we were all gathered around a fire pit, and we had drink tickets.  We were FREEZING.  The wind was really a force to be reckoned with.  It was a beautiful event, but I should have brought a coat, and my space heater.

These two experiences, especially since I have about an hour left at work, and I am still experiencing the cold, has me thinking about some place tropical, like where the wedding is going to be Jamaica..

Hope these pictures warm you up!!

Things to do ...

Cushion Ottomans

Bedroom and Basket Love

As I work through the rooms of my home that still need decorating love, I have started once again to fall in love with baskets.  The clean, yet rustic look that they afford the room, and all the many and varied sizes and styles that they come in..

My new love of  Pinterest.. has me storing all my inspiration in one place, which of course makes it easier to share with you all..

And.. so ends.. Spring Break..

It is always with some sadness that holidays come to an end, especially those that we are blessed to share with our families.  With Morgan now one years old, Jaime 6 and Anthony at 14, finding activities that everyone loves is definitely a challenge, but I think we really pulled it off this time.  The baby just loves being outside with the air on her face.  As much as I am not an outdoorsy kind of girl I did enjoy the outside activities because it gave me a chance to exercise, while watching my family enjoy themselves.

All the fresh air and family time made me think about things that I think sometimes get lost in the daily grind.

1.  I am truly blessed and highly favored.  I have a loving husband, who is also a devoted father, and most of   all my best friend.

2.  I have wonderful kids, and although they drive me totally batty at times, they also have amazing attributes in their own rights.

3.  I am glad that we are able even in this economy to be able to do these things and enjoy these moments that are soo fleeting.

To Serve --

I find myself spending hours on end mulling over different serving ware pieces.  I think it is what makes the party, the room, the home...

Things I saw at a party... and loved...

Well they say, "the devil is in the details"... But, those details are what makes an event for me.  The little things that make a huge impression.

I love anything that adds ownership to a party... (personalization), and the way these straws were set up here, really spoke to me.

I also loved the way these buckets pulled in the color scheme. The aluminum/tin gave a definite masculine feel, and it was just a novel way to display the utensils ... found here.

Lastly, a colorful party idea, there were soo many elements I loved in this collage, but my favorite was the glasses with strawberry milk and the labels on them, found here:

Easter.... and Peter Cottontail...

My God Daughter's Birthday falls this year on Easter.  Her mom is having an Easter Themed Party for her, and it  started me looking out for all things Easter Related...

On my frequent blog searches I ran across these really cute items.

These totally adorable cupcakes found here:

This really amazing way to dress up Oreo Cakesters found here:

And, last but not least.. the most novel idea I have seen in a while!!  Check out these carrots:

There are how to's on the sites I linked to here..

Let the Sunshine In...

As much as I love, what all the rain this week did to prepare my soil for gardening.  I am very excited about all the Sun we will get this weekend.

So in that spirit... Enjoy the sun, as I will.

And, have an amazing weekend.

Early Morning Musings

It's another one of those mornings where sleep escapes me in the form of baby insomnia. The definition of baby insomnia, a baby who refuses to sleep, leaving you void of sleep.
Of course I know that this is a very common occurence in the baby world but with my 5 am alarm looming just 30 mins in the future, I can't help but dread a really long Friday.

On days like this Starbucks is my friend and people are not soo much. Thank God this is the girls weekend with "the grands", so maybe I can recoup some of the sleep I lost while dh sleeps soundly in our bed.

This is me signing out...with my trending topic of the day #motherhood.
