Day 7 of 31 -- It's Friday.. It's Friday and I for one am sooo happy!!

I have been singing since I walked in the door this morning...   The weather is actually pretty nice here, but its freezing in my office.  Which has me thinking about the things I look forward to during the fall and winter months.

5 of 31: Jewelry Love...

I am a firm believer that accessories can really pull an outfit together especially a necklace no matter how simple or extravagant.  Here are some of my favorites right now.  And, I threw in a cute bangle for good measure.. Happy Hump Day!!

Day 4 of 31: The Home Front

A little over a week ago our Nanny fell and hurt her back, so my husband has had to pick up much of the slack, being that he works from home three days a week, and then on the days that he had to go into the office last week, my parents took over.

But, this week, my parents are gone to Sunny Jamaica, and I am filling in when hubby is in the office.  So this gave me an unexpected day with the girls yesterday.  I started my day at 6am as usual, attended a parent teacher conference at 7:50am.  Took Morgan on her first couponing trip at 9am, and well with her in tow that took 2 + hours.  Then I had to pick up Jaime by 12:30pm, half day.

We got home and I made lunch, we watched tv did homework, read, played with Morgan, and I got a chance to do some much needed things around the house.  And, although it made me once again appreciate and tip my hat to stay at home moms.

I am back at work today, feeling less stressed and quite appreciative, of my job, of my kids, my life and my incredible husband.  Sometimes the seemingly little things serve to put things into perspective for you.

Food for Thought: Hard Times

I have so many friends that are going through trying times right now... sometimes it is soo hard to know what to say when someone you love is suffering and the cirucmstances are beyond your control.

These words give me some comfort, and hopefully may give them a little as well.

I personally hate when the answer is not right in front of me, or there is no plan in sight.  But, its then that I have to learn to depend on the Author and Finisher of my Fate.(still working on it...)

Blog Love: Chocolatey Goodnes... via Coco& Kelley

Reading one of my favorite blogs Coco & Kelley and their blog title today, Brown is back tickled me.  Why, because I ddin't know it left, I love brown, espresso, chocolate, etc.  At my wedding two and half years ago my colors were chocolate brown and sage.  I often dress my girls in pink and brown, and my curtains and comforter for my master bedroom feature this color.

What does that say.. I am ahead of the game, I guess.  I am attaching some of the pics they shared along with the link to the post, all the material belongs to them....

Happy Reading!!

Some time this week, I am going to take some pics of some signature pieces I have in my office, and post them, just for fun!!

Finding my Silver Lining..

Well, I find myself wondering frequently when I will stop adding new blogs to my GReader.  And, I probably never will, there are just always new and interesting things to learn and read about.  Occasionally, I will go through and remove the blogs that just don't bring a smile to my face, are much too serious, and or much too complicated.

I read all kinds of blogs, party blogs, parenting blogs, do it yourself blogs, family blogs, life style blogs, blogs about money, having it, saving it, and even not having it and trying to get it.  Couponing, discounts, thrifting you name it.

Almost always in the course of reading these blogs, I feel like I get to delve into the life of someone else, to see things through their eyes, to laugh with them, cry with them, and get another perspective.

This morning, I pulled up A CUP OF JO and Joanna has a Guest Blogger Jen of The Little Green Notebook, and after just blogging about balance, I found her take on the situation refreshing.

She writes:

"Now that I feel like I have more balance in my life, I'm learning how to be more present. I am one of those people that is always looking forward to the next step, always saying "Won't life be great when..." That is so damaging! My dad once told me that the secret to happiness in life is to be conscious of what is uniquely great about your current situation and put your focus there.  So right now, I am choosing to not focus on how little sleep I get, or how hard Evie's stranger danger/needy phase can be, or how much great TV I'm missing out on! The flip side is I have three fulfilling jobs that keep me happily busy and we're making it work for us."

I loved what she wrote, and I think I am going to try to look for the joy in my life as well, won't you join me...

A Talk with a Friend

The other day I had a talk with a friend, or maybe it was more of a vent session.  I was telling her about all the things I had to do, and the time frame within which I had to do it.  And, that I was feeling a little burnt out and feeling like things were suffering, this blog being one of them.  My love for writing and reading is one of my greatest joys, but sometimes it becomes hard to find time for the things you love.  Especially when most of your time is spent on the people you love.

That being said.  She told that maybe I had to acknowledge the fact that I just couldn't handle all of the balls I had in the air at once.  Being a self proclaimed Super Woman, that was a little hard for me to hear, but she was right.

So I have been making an effort to prioritize and even knock some things completely off my list.  Lyfe (this blog)  made the cut, so look for me to be sharing more and more in the near future.

For now, I am off to check the sales papers so that I can get my list together to complete back to school shopping.  Proof and edit my 15 Year Old Son's Summer Reports, and .... the list goes on...
