My Secret Love Affair...

with Google.

For as long as I can remember, I have been a fan of all things Google.  Lets face it Google introduces the highest level of functionality to email(s), to phones, to maps, etc. etc.  There just really isn't anything that I have been apart of that was kin to google that I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

Part of being an entrepreneur with  a small business is definitely trying to compete on the same level as the big companies.  But, its  hard to do without being willing and able to spend large amounts of cash.  But, now through innovative services such as Google Wave, or Google Voice, Google Reader and Documents, Calendars that sync to our blackberries and 4G Devices.  It is just soo much easier.  And, it's FREE, I almost forgot to write that part.

I could attempt to try to explain all the many facets that these various softwares have to offer, but I know I couldn't do it justice.

So, if you have NEVER listened to me before.  In your free time start reading the Google Blog, see what is available to you, right under your very NOSE..

Then get back to me, tell me how Google has helped the functionality of your business, or your home life...

I can't wait to hear from you guys..

Time to Press the Reset Button....

August 16, 2010
A New Approach

Taking a Break from What You Are Doing

Sometimes we need to step back from what occupies our minds and take a break much like touching the reset button.

Sometimes we can get so wrapped up in our thoughts that we wind up going round in round in circles, finding it difficult to concentrate on things and, because we are so distracted, not really accomplishing much. There may be signals—mental, emotional, and physical—that tell us we need to slow down and relax. Since we are so involved in things that are external to us, however, we may easily overlook what is really going on inside of us. It is during these times that we need to step back from the things that occupy our minds and take time out to connect with our inner self, giving our minds, bodies, and spirits the time they need to reenergize and heal.

At first it may seem that by taking a break we may not be as productive as we would initially like. In reality, a healthy period of rest is something that gives us a real sense of the unlimited nature of our true potential. Spending a couple of minutes walking outside, doing a few yoga poses, meditating, or simply becoming attuned to the rising and falling of our breath enables us to let go of our worries. This act brings our focus back to the things that are truly essential for us, such as our sense of oneness with the universe and our inner peace and well-being. As we begin to get in touch with this part of ourselves, we will find that our usual everyday troubles and worries become less critical and that we not only have much more room in our lives to really reflect on the issues that mean the most to us, but we are also able bring to all the situations we encounter a much more positive and healthy outlook.

Giving ourselves respite from our daily concerns is like giving a gift to ourselves. By stepping away from the problems that seem to saturate our thoughts, we lessen the weight of our troubles and instead become more receptive to the wisdom and answers the universe has to offer us.

Things that make you go..... Yummy!!!

Part of my New Year's Resolution this year was to surround myself only with the things that I love, as much as it is possible.  And, to that end, I have found some of the most divine things to eat this year, that not only taste good but are healthier options than the things I had been eating in the past.

1 - Four Egg Cheese Souffle - from Panera..
2 - Mango Shake - Starbucks
3 - Skinny Iced Caramel Macchioto - Starbucks
4 - Low Fat Strawberry Scone - Panera
5 - Low Fat Cinnamon Coffee Cake - Starbucks
6 - Shaken Passion Lemonade Tea - Starbucks
7 - Spinach Egg White & Feta Cheese Wrap - Starbucks

IN MY DEFENSE:  Some of these may not be super healthy, but they are a healthier option for me, lol.   Can you imagine what I was eating before??

Passing the Diaper Bag

As a self proclaimed Control Freak, it is always hard for me to both ask for and receive help, after all I really can do everything myself.  After being a single mom for over 8 years and having to do whatever I had to do to make things work, this is still something that I struggle with.

Yesterday was Morgy's 4 month appointment and I really wanted to be there, but I had to take off last Friday to register the other kid's for school.  So I had to let Daddy go by himself.  I wrote a long list of questions that I wanted answered.  And, I put the reigns in Dad's capable hands, and he handled it.  But, when he called to give me all the information, I found that I had more questions based on the doctors answers.   I felt like I needed more information or that I would have handled the appointment differently.  And, I felt myself getting my back up.  Then, I had to sit back and acknowledge how great it is to have a husband who can fill in for me when I can not be there.  And, how amazing it is that our children's well being is just as important to him as it is to me.  And, at that moment I realized that whatever I needed to know could be answered by a simple email to the pediatrician, and that I was blessed.

I never even said a word to Daddy because the bottom line is that his best really was good enough...
